Born in 1944, Arie
Ben-David spent his childhood years in Northern Moravia, part of
the former Czechoslovakia. He obtained his education through the
Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and later in Bratislava.
Following
numerous study trips to the Soviet Union, Hungary, Poland and
after the completion of his studies, Arie immigrated to the
State of Israel. His new life began in the Upper Galilee, but
eventually moved to Tel Aviv where he assumed a position as an
assistant designer with the internationally respected Reisinger
Studio. Simultaneously, his artistic career began. The first
sales ever of this young Artist’s work came through the
Rosenfeld Gallery in Tel Aviv.
As a member of
the Association of Painters and Sculptors in Israel, the Artist
realized a number of study trips to Italy and France. While in
Strasbourg, his time was devoted to art restoration.
In the year of
1971, Ben-David settled in Goteborg, Sweden, where his first one
man show took place; following the first participation in the
December Salon, held in Goteborg Konsthallen. During the
upcoming year, the first set of the original lithographs were
published by the prestigious Grafikhuset Publishing Group in
Stockholm; leading to a one man show on the International Art
Fair in Basel, Switzerland, which became for him an annual
event. Participation in additional Art Fairs, in Dusseldorf and
Cologne, Germany, set the stage for a network of dealers,
promoting and exhibiting his Art outside of Scandinavia,
predominately in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium, as
well as in Argentina, South Africa, Israel and Japan.
In 1980, the
Artist decided to move to Canada. His residence for many years
was in Montreal, where he developed a strong affinity for a
cultural life in French Canada. After leaving the Province of
Quebec, Arie Ben-David put into practice his longstanding
interest in graphic design which launched his commercial career
in this field. However, in recent years, the Artist returned
exclusively to creating and exhibiting Fine Art.
As a result of
many years of study and a solid background of European
experience, the Artist delivers an evidence of technical
accuracy, flawless composition and creative integrity.
